For Letterboxd users
Letterboxd is a great public log. Film Palace is a private archive. Organized rooms, personal memory notes, a taste fingerprint, and deep director & writer discovery — everything Letterboxd doesn't do.
Free for up to 100 films. No credit card required.
Sign up — it takes 30 seconds. No credit card, no social profile required.
Go to Import → Letterboxd, type your username, and hit "Connect & sync". We pull your public diary via Letterboxd's RSS feed. Films, ratings, and watched dates come across instantly.
Films land in your archive. Take the 2-minute taste quiz to auto-generate organized rooms — Comfort Room, Slow Burn Sanctuary, Masterpieces Hall — based on what you actually watch.
Also have a large collection?
You can also upload Letterboxd's CSV export directly — go to letterboxd.com → Settings → Import & Export → Export your data. CSV import handles notes and tags that RSS doesn't carry.
Organize films into themed rooms — Rainy Night Theater, Date Night Balcony, Heavy Films Vault. Not one flat list.
Attach a private memory to any film. "Watched this with my sister the week she moved away." Letterboxd reviews are public. This stays yours.
Your era breakdown, top genres, top directors, mood scores. A map of who you are as a watcher.
Every director, writer, and actor has their own page with career arc, essential films, and similar filmmakers to explore.
Rate every film on rewatchability, comfort, emotional intensity, visual beauty, and more. Tonight's recommendation engine uses these scores.
"What should I watch for a rainy Sunday?" Ask your palace. The AI concierge knows your collection and answers from it.
Film Palace doesn't replace Letterboxd. Many users keep both — logging publicly there, archiving privately here.
What exactly gets imported via RSS?
Films you've logged, your star ratings (converted to 1–10), and watched dates. Diary text entries don't come through RSS — for those, use the CSV export instead.
Does it sync automatically?
Once connected, you can trigger a sync anytime from the Import page. We respect Letterboxd's servers — rate-limited to once per hour, server-side only.
Is my palace private?
Yes, private by default. You can flip a toggle in Settings to make it publicly shareable at filmpalace.app/u/your-id — useful for sharing your taste card.
What's the free tier?
100 films free, forever. Upgrade to Patron ($5/month) for unlimited films and unlimited Archivist AI queries.
Can I export my data later?
Yes. Your data is yours — export anytime from the Import page.
